Yellow tea – proper preparation
It is important to emphasize that yellow tea works best freshly prepared.
Water temperature:
After boiling in the teapot, the water is allowed to cool down around 5 minutes to reach the optimal temperature between 70-80 °C.
Amount of yellow tea:
– put 1 teaspoon of yellow tea on 2.5 dcl of water
– 1 tablespoon of yellow tea is added to 1 liter of water.
Keeping yellow tea in water:
Yellow tea is kept covered in water/strainer for between 2-3 minutes and then strained. During these few minutes, antioxidants (catechins) come to the surface and have a better effect on the body when the tea is drunk.
Yellow tea should not be drunk with sugar (sweetened) because in this way its effectiveness is reduced. If you really have to sweeten it, add honey or palm sugar, some kind of brown sugar or pure maple syrup to the tea.
Yellow teas and their average price in Split Tea House is around HRK 70 per 100 grams, which is enough for consumption of yellow tea for approximately 21 days/1L per day.
