In order to achieve optimal organoleptic pleasure, green tea should be prepared according to a special procedure, where the ratio of tea and water is the most important:
- Water temperature:
After boiling in the kettle, the water is allowed to cool for about 5 minutes to reach the optimal temperature between 70-80 °C. - Amount of green tea:
– 1 teaspoon of green tea is added to 2.5–3 dcl of water
– 1 tablespoon of green tea is added to 1 liter of water. - Keeping green tea in water:
Green tea is kept covered in water/strainer for 2-3 minutes and then strained.
During these few minutes, antioxidants (catechins) come to the surface and have a better effect on the body when green tea is drunk.
Green tea should not be drunk with sugar, as this reduces its effectiveness. If you really must sweeten it, add honey or palm sugar, some kind of brown sugar or pure maple syrup to the tea.
Green teas and their average price in the Split Tea House ranges from HRK 50 to HRK 60 for 100 grams, which is enough to consume green tea for approximately 20 days/1L per day.
The shelf life of green tea in its original packaging is at least 6 months from the date of its order/purchase. Store in a dark and dry place.
